Township Clerk Carol J. Burkard has lived in White Lake Township in the Twin Lakes Village Subdivision for 30 years. It is there where she raised her five children Linda, Cheryl, Richard, Lisa and Heidi who have allbeen the joy of her life and the joy continues with the addition of five beautiful grandchildren.

In 1989, Carol started working at the White Lake Township Library and continued till 2000. It has been her pleasure to serve the community of White Lake Township in both the capacity of Township Trustee from 1996 till 2000 and then elected to the position of Township Clerk in November 2000 and re-electedin November 2004.

Carol has enthusiastically served as the “People's Partner” representing the voice of White Lake Township residents. As a service-oriented person Carol has served on not only the Township Board as both Trustee and Township Clerk her scope of service included the White Lake Township Business Association Board of Directors, The Twin Lakes Village Subdivision Board of Directors and the Open Door Outreach Center. One of her proudest honors was being named recipient of the Unsung Hero Award from the State of Michigan for her hard work, commitment and devotion to helping others in the
community. Carol is also a member of the White Lake Township Historical Society and the Friends of the White Lake Township Library. Her hobbies are decorating her home, reading and writing short stories, she someday hopes to write about her experience in the Township as a public servant including her years and successes of being a single parent raising five children.
