One free container can be obtained from the garbage company. Some people do not recycle, so the driver looks for the container provided. Starting January 1, 2005, single stream recycling - All recycling goes in a garbage truck that is marked recycling only and
is sorted at the recycling center.

Items to be recycled:
- Clear and colored glass jars (no window glass)
- Tin and aluminum cans
- #1 and #2 plastics
- Newspapers, tied with twine or in paper bags, no phone books or magazines.
- Corrugated cardboard, flattened and bundled - no larger than 2 feet by 2 feet.

Exempt Items:
Tires, Rims, Cement, Stones and large amounts of household cleanup items are not covered by the contract. Some of these items may be picked up at a price to be agreed upon. Call Allied Waste for a cost estimate.

There is no limit on household waste. If there is a large amount of garbage, call Allied Waste in advance.

Large Items:
There is no charge for most large items. Call Allied Waste to make arrangements for pickup, usually within 48 hours. Starting January 1, 2005 all appliances containing chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’s) will be picked up at no charge.

Paint:
Pour into full garbage bag to dry, or mix with kitty litter to dry. DO NOT cover empty paint cans.

Carpet:
Cut and tied in 4 foot rolls.

Starting April 15, 2005 through November 30 Limit of 20 brown compost bags or trash cans clearly marked Yard Waste, for grass, small twigs, or leaves. Composting is done by a separate garbage truck on your regular pickup day. Any compost to be picked up before or after the composting season must be stored until the composting season begins.
The compost sites close and the garbage company has nowhere to take compost.

Brush:
Brush should be bundled in lengths of 4 feet or less and 3”- 4” or less in diameter.

Construction Debris:
Allow three - 32 gallon containers of construction debris or equivalent.

Christmas Trees:
Christmas trees will be picked up on your regular day the first and second weeks after January 1st.

Holidays:
When holidays fall on a weekday, pickup will be on the next day. Holidays are as follows:
Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day.

Your home is part of a Special Assessment District to provide trash removal through 2009.
