2007 Dog Licenses are available at the Treasurer’s Office as well as some local veterinarians, or at Oakland County Animal Control - Located at 1700 Brown Road in Auburn Hills. 248-391-4100.

Dog licenses expire December 31st of each year. The deadline to purchase dog licenses without penalty is June 1, 2007. Beginning June 2, 2007 the fee is increased to $30.00.

Dogs four months of age and older are required to be licensed every year by Michigan State Law. To obtain a license, proof of current rabies vaccination is required.

The license fees are as follows:
$7.50 if your dog is spayed or neutered
$15.00 if your dog is not spayed or neutered

If owner of dog is a senior citizen (65 years or older):
$6.75 if your dog is spayed or neutered
$13.50 if your dog is not spayed or neutered

If your dog license is purchased after the June 2, 2007
deadline the fee is $30.00 Exceptions to the June 2nd fee increase are:
New resident in Oakland County (within 30 days)
New dog (within 30 days)
Dog just turned four months of age (within 30 days)

Also available for your pet's protection are microchipping and tattooing. Please contact your local veterinarian for information on microchipping or the Michigan Department of Agriculture at (517) 241-2748 for licensed tattoo providers.
