STAFF PLANNER

The Charter Township of White Lake is accepting applications for a full-time Staff Planner.  A Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning and a minimum of three to five years experience in a municipal planning department is required.  AICP certification and site plan review experience is a plus.

This person is responsible for responding to the public regarding planning policies and processes. They will also answer inquiries from the public and township employees regarding ordinances, planning project status, and other matters related to planning and zoning. The Staff Planner will also update maps and records as established by the Planning Director, review zoning violations related to site plan management and the development process and coordinate private road application and review process. They will attend most Zoning Board of Appeals and Parks and Recreation meetings.

The starting salary is $64,429 and includes generous health insurance benefits, paid time off and holidays.

CLERK II

Applications are being accepted for a Clerk II position.  The annual starting salary will be $38,730 and includes generous health insurance benefits, paid time off and holidays.  This is a full-time position.  Extended hours will be required during peak work periods for elections.

The Clerk’s department is a dynamic work environment handling many governmental functions for the municipality.  The Clerk II position will provide support to the Clerk’s office by delivering courteous and efficient customer service in support of the department’s operations.  Primary responsibilities include answering customer and resident questions and problem resolution, document imaging and retrieval, record keeping, assisting with municipal elections, and preparing correspondence and other clerical functions.  Some administrative experience and experience with Laserfiche preferred.  Experience working in elections is also preferred.

This position requires two or more years of customer service in an office environment or working with the public.  Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.  Proficiency in Excel, MS Word and Outlook required.  A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Police Cadet Position

The White Lake Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for multiple part-time Police Cadet Positions.

The primary responsibilities of this position include performing a variety of tasks to support the Police Department. The tasks will include working in conjunction with Police Officers, Dispatchers, and Records personnel. Duties include assisting citizens, completing documentation, and assistance in the maintenance and cleaning of police facilities, vehicles, and equipment.
