Maintenance Worker

The Charter Township of White Lake is accepting applications for a Maintenance Worker.

The Maintenance Worker performs a wide variety of building, grounds, and facility maintenance activities. This includes painting, cleaning, window cleaning, repairing, performing minor building repairs, and general custodial work. Responsibilities include seasonal work such as winter snow ground maintenance and snow removal. Maintaining ground equipment when needed and mowing, weed whipping, and park trash collection are expected.

This employee is responsible for maintaining vehicles and equipment and investigating complaints and equipment malfunctions. This employee prepares the buildings for business each day, which may include moving office furniture as needed.

Knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, and maintenance and repair activities necessary to provide a wide range of services to the Township. Must possess mechanical aptitude. Two (2) years of experience in maintenance and repair of equipment and two (2) years of custodial and grounds keeping experience are required.

The starting salary for this position is $52,756 with progressive yearly increases, with the four-year top of the wage scale at $64,129, subject to change with future union negotiations. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefit plan, including health insurance, optical, dental, and life insurance. White Lake Township has a pension plan and paid time off for holidays and vacations.
