T.E.A.M.

TEAM 2

In 2018, the White Lake Township Police Department adopted the T.E.A.M. curriculum to replace the DARE program. T.E.A.M. is a 10-week program created and distributed by Michigan State Police. Currently, T.E.A.M. is taught to all 5th grade and 7th grade students in White Lake Township. Each year approximately 750 students at six different schools are impacted by the T.E.A.M. program. Topics include vaping, alcohol, drugs, gun safety, school violence, bullying, the court system, and cell phone/computer/internet safety. At the end of the program students complete an essay showing what they have learned. Students receive a certificate of completion, a T.E.A.M. shirt, as well as giveaways throughout the program.

In addition to the T.E.A.M. program, the T.E.A.M. Officer coordinates events through the White Lake Police Foundation. Some of these events include the annual charity golf outing. This event is the primary fundraiser for the T.E.A.M. program. Other events include: Shop with a cop, Youth Police Academy, Open house, 5K run, and Adopt-a-family. Each one of these events is used to enhance our impact and community relations with our residents.
